It takes under 5 minutes on your own, with no tools. You lift the platform onto your roof bars, slide the beams into place, and engage the quick-lock system. Then a standard pop-up tent goes on top, just as it would on the ground.
The setup is straightforward, and every Plat4tent comes with clear step-by-step instructions to guide you through it.

Plat4tent is designed to be used on your car’s roof bars. During the day, you can also place the platform and tent on the ground, leaving your camp set up while you take the car out for a drive. However, sleeping on Plat4tent while it is on the ground is not recommended.

It folds down to 110 × 60 × 15 cm and weighs 28 kg with the ladder. Packed in its carry bag, it stows under a bed, in a cupboard or in the garage, with no permanent roof box taking up space.

Plat4tent's low-profile design cuts wind resistance by 10-20% compared with a traditional rooftop tent, so you burn less fuel on the road. And because it comes off in minutes, your car is back to normal, and back to normal efficiency, during the week.

Any vehicle fitted with standard roof bars that meet these conditions: dynamic load rating ≥ 200 kg, bar spacing between 1 m and 1.4 m, fixing points at least 75 cm apart, and at least 7.5 cm of clearance between the roof and the bars.

Plat4tent is compatible with most two-person pop-up tents, including the Decathlon Fresh & Black two-person model. Side-entry tents are generally the easiest to use, while rear-entry tents may require a closer compatibility check. We’ll check your tent for free before you commit. contact us for advice.

By reserving now you unlock up to 100 € off: a first 50 € just for reserving, and a second 50 € when you answer our short survey or have a quick call with us, bringing it down to 799 €. That's a fraction of a traditional fixed rooftop tent, which typically costs between 1,500 € and 3,500 €.

It also works with standard pop-up tents and roof bars, so there is less dedicated equipment to manufacture.
